The SOBHD are saddened to hear of the loss of Iain Macdonald, SOBHD Honorary Member, who passed away peacefully on Friday 1st June 2018.
Iain was a former SOBHD adjudicator, long-standing piper for dancing who was always at the forefront for setting tempos for the dancers in conjunction with the SOBHD and the 2011 Atholl Clasp recipient.
Iain’s funeral will take place on Tuesday 12th June at 2:30pm at St David’s Park Memorial Church, Alexandra Street, Kirkintilloch and then on to Daldowie Crematorium.
Our thoughts are with Iain’s wife Mary, his family and friends at this time.

The SOBHD are saddened to hear of the loss of Joan Murray, a member of the SOBHD Judges’ panel, who passed away on Saturday 20th January 2018.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

The SOBHD are saddened to hear of the passing of Isobel St. John, a former member of the SOBHD Judges Panel and Competition Organiser..
Her funeral will be held on Thursday 18th January at Calvary Church, 344 Muir Street, Motherwell, ML1 1BN at 12pm and then 1pm at Holyrown Crematorium, Memorial Way, Holytown, ML1 5RU.

The SOBHD are saddened to hear of the loss of Loree Martin Vellner who passed away on Sunday 31st December 2017.
Loree passed away peacefully while in hospital December 31, 2017. She was a gracious, kind, compassionate and generous lady who will be missed by all she touched. Loree, a former Life Member of the SDTA and SOBHD judges’ panel, served as ScotDance Canada’s second President, and was appointed as an Independent Member in 1998. Loree retired from her Independent Member status in 2011 and subsequently was appointed an Emeritus member of ScotDance Canada. For many years, Loree was the sole sponsor of the choreography competitions at the ScotDance Canada Championship event—a true ambassador for highland dancing within and outside of Canada. She is survived by her husband Bob, daughter Susan and son Marty. “
