Congratulations to Helen Ford, who has become an Honorary Member of the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing.
Helen is pictured at the 2015 SOBHD AGM with Vice President Linda Rankin, President Shendl Russell and Chairman Christine Lacey MBE.
Shendl provided the following words in support of Helen’s nomination:
An Honorary Member is a person who is appointed for life in recognition of his/her services to the Board. On that basis here are some highlights of Helen’s career in dance.
Helen served as overseas administrator for the BATD for many years, following on from her mentor Miss Sadie Simpson;
She served as President of the BATD and was their delegate to the Board for many years;
Helen was most accommodating and gracious in supporting the SOBHD through its transition period;
Helen’s PR skills are second to none;
All Board members recognise Helen for her diplomacy, professionalism, international relationships, work ethic, personal skills and commitment to the world of dance.
